About Funatorium Explorium

Hello friends,

My name is Leslie. I am a wife and mom to an amazing 9 year old boy. I retired from senior management roles in marketing agencies and banking to spend more time with my family and pursue other passions. One of those passions was to create my own business. Funatorium Explorium is bringing that dream to life. It is an idea three or four years in the making. Funatorium Explorium’s purpose is to design opportunities for parents and children to play TOGETHER and create wonderful lasting memories in the process.

Why?

  1. There are lots of fun places in town for kids to let loose but as parents we sometimes (or always) want to poke our eyes out with pins … You know the places I’m talking about! And there are many places and events for Moms and Dads to enjoy but we have to drag our kids kicking and screaming because there’s nothing in it for them. We need more activities to do TOGETHER.
  2. We have beautiful museums with limited opportunities for hands-on play. Look, listen, don’t touch. We need to say YES YOU CAN more often.
  3. Travelling to other cities and visiting many tourist attractions, I noted that I always lamented upon our return “I wish we had something like that in Ottawa.” Though I can’t recreate every attraction we’ve ever visited, I can recreate the feeling that these experiences generated in me. Let’s create some MEMORIES!

 

So Funatorium Explorium Family Extravaganza will be an event that the entire family will want to go to. Where…

  • everyone will have a great time playing together;
  • everyone can touch and try everything;
  • lasting memories will inevitably be created.
